The PADI Advanced Open Water Course is based on the idea to give the diver a chance to select dives according to his interests or explore new possibilities under water. The goal of the Advanced Course (AOWD) is to make you fee more confident under water so you can have more fun!

The structure of the PADI AOWD course is different from the open water diving lessons. Two of the 5 lessons you will participate in, are mandatory, the Navigation course and the Deep Dive course. Then there are three more lessons each involving one dive and a theoretical part, you can choose of. After an introductory briefing, held by an experienced and qualified diving instructor you will watch the PADI Open Water video. The video is funny and entertaining and will give you an overview on everything you will learn in detail during the PADI Open Water Course.

The PADI Open Water Diving Course is built upon repetitive learning. During your diving course, you will hear, see, read and experience each important part of your scuba diving course more than once, making sure that you understand all important details of scuba diving.

Teaching and Course Material for Open Water Diving Courses

When you start diving you will need a dive table and the PADI open Water course book. These course materials are usually included in the course price in all PADI dive centers, The book and the dive table are yours to keep and the PADI course book explains everything in detail once again and you can look up things again later on.

In general though, scuba diving is a water sport and you get wet! That's a lot more fun than sitting in a classroom. Nevertheless. the theoretical part of scuba diving is important so that you can avoid to get in trouble underwater.

Lets assume, that by the time you become a certified Open Water Diver you love both, Puerto Rico and Diving. If, after the PADI Open Water Course, you feel some strange, notion it might well be the first symptoms of scuba diving addiction.
